Hardy Water Lilies | Tropical Water Lilies | Lotus
Hardy water lilies are the staple of the water garden. They are characterized by flowers of typically red, yellow, white, pink or orange. The flowers are more know to sit on the water surface with medium sized leaves. They in most climates retain their leaves all year. They spread by way of tuber. Most are not profuse bloomers.
Tropical water lilies are the crown jewel of your water garden. They come in many shades of purples, pinks, blues, yellow, white, fushia, lavender, red and even green. Their flowers bloom well above the water surface. Tropical waterlilies are very profuse bloomers. Once they start to bloom they will have flowers everyday though out the blooming season. They have many colors and sizes of leaves. They spread by bulb or seeds.
Lotus are a fun addition to your pond. Weather you decide to add them in the shallow areas or in large pots free standing you will be amazed at the extra large leaves that rise far about the water surface. The flowers come in many shapes, sizes and colors.
